Six days trek on the high plateaus of the Massif M’goun with the optional ascent of the beautiful summit. A beautiful route in the highest and wildest of the Central and High Atlas mountains
Trek Description
Day 1 : Airport-Marrakech Hotel
Transfer from the airport to your accommodation. The first evening you will be able to spend by yourself and explore the vibrant life of Marrakech.
Day 2: Marrakech – Ait Bougumez (1800 m) – Ikkis (2200 m)
We will leave early in the morning to go to Azilal, the Tizi-n-Oughbar, Ait Abbas and Ait Bougumez valley. 4H30 drive. On arrival without wasting time, we will start the hike to Ikkis. 2-3H walk
Day 3: Ikkis (2200 m) – Base Camp of M’Goun (2900 m)
Today you will get to the bottom of the M’Goun summit. The M’Goun massif is the most ancient and definitely one of the most beautiful Central High Atlas Massifs. 4H30 walk
Day 4: Ascent M’Goun (4067 m) – Oulilimt (2400 m)
We will start to climb the M’goun summit early in the morning. After enjoying the views from the top, you will go down to Aîn Oulilimt where we will have a well-deserved rest and set up camp. 8H walk
Day 5: Oulilimt (2400 m) – Tighremt Ait Hamd (1900 m)
Today we will go down to the Oulilimt valley. You pass the M’goun spring “Ain Aflafal” before setting up camp near M’goun. 6H walk
Day 6: Tighremt Ait Hamed (1900 m) – Ait Imi (1850 m)
Climbing again! Today you will go to Tizi-n-Ait Imi (2905 m). You will definitely enjoy the panoramic views of the massif, M’goun! Then you will pass the juniper forest and get to the Ait Imi village where we will stay overnight. 6H walk
Day 7: Ait Imi (1850 m) – Timit – Marrakech
You will leave Ait Bougumez valley, pass the fortified granary of Sidi Moussa to get to the village of Timit. 2H walk and 4H30 drive back to Marrakech.
Day 8: Transfer Marrakech – Airport
Transfer to the airport. End of the trip.
